PADI Tropical Referral

My son received his open water certification with Neal two weeks ago. I could not have asked for a more qualified and friendly instructor. We each had nine dives with the Team at Dive Grenada and cannot say enough good things about all of them. I have dove all over the Caribbean and can say that for the entire nine dives we were well looked after and made to feel right at home. I highly recommend this Team for training and enjoying the under water scenery that Grenada has to offer. Thanks to Allie for all the good restaurant recommendations! Looking forward to seeing Neal, Allie, Zhane, Brittany, Gary, and Captain Teon again.

My cousin and I spent 5 days diving with Dive Grenada. Allie and Neil took over this dive shop 6 months ago, and are doing a superb job offering quality service and great diving in the island. I can’t say enough of their friendliness, efficiency and professionalism. They go out of their way to cater to one’s needs. The crew, Brittney, Gary, Tion and Zane are cool, fun and relaxed, but very safe and helpful. The dive masters had some amazing finds: a huge ray buried in the sand and a nurse shark napping in a little cave. I truly enjoyed the night dive, I got to see the ‘green flash’ at sunset, simply amazing. Neil was very informative about marine life behavior, he is great at explaining things, I could see how great of an instructor he is. I will find new recruits for Open Water Certification and bring them to Dive Grenada!!

I had an amazing experience with Dive Grenada and cannot recommend them highly enough. I completed my open water certification with them, and the owners, Neil and Allie, were outstanding. Neil was my primary instructor, and his patience, encouragement, and positive attitude throughout the four certifying dives were incredibly valuable. He ensured that not only did I have the skills to pass the course, but also that I felt confident in my diving abilities. His extensive training, experience, and fun approach to teaching really shone through, and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Allie was also incredibly helpful in resolving some minor equipment issues that I had, and the divemasters who accompanied us on our dives were top-notch. You can tell that they are passionate about what they do and genuinely love their jobs. Dive Grenada is a professionally-run dive shop that prioritizes safety and has a highly knowledgeable and experienced staff. The diving itself was also fantastic, and it's clear that the owners and staff at Dive Grenada take great care in showcasing the beauty of the underwater world in a responsible and sustainable way. Overall, I highly recommend Dive Grenada and cannot speak highly enough of Neil, Allie, and their entire team. If you are looking for a top-notch dive experience, Dive Grenada should be at the top of your list.

Neal’s tutorage is fantastic, and my first certified dives with Gary and Brittney as dive masters were so much fun. The dive sites around the area are incredible. If you’re thinking of going diving in Grenada, don’t look any further!

I have been diving for over 50 years and my now grown-up children became PADI certified divers at a young age. So, when it came to introducing my 10-year-old grandson to diving I was very selective to insure a great initial experience. After interviewing 3 dive operations in Grenada, I chose Dive Grenada based on the professionalism and caring interpersonal style of the new owners (Allie and Neal) along with quality equipment and their Introduction to Diving Process. I am beyond pleased to say that Neal was an incredible teacher for my grandson, and I accompanied them on his very first dive… 42 minutes at 32 feet. From course work to pool work to his first back roll entry, my grandson was well prepared and ecstatic! His first comment was “when can I go again!” It was a lovely dive, but what a memory making event it became. Many, many thanks go to Neal and Allie. I wholeheartedly recommend Dive Grenada.

If you're thinking of doing some scuba diving in Grenada (or picking up some certifications), I recommend building your vacation around Dive Grenada -- book as soon as you can because they're a small shop: meaning that they can and do provide completely exemplary service and experiences. And by the way this is the kind of service where you NEED NEVER LIFT A TANK OR YOUR BCD in a week of diving!!! And get homemade cookies after your dives! My wife and I and our two adult sons (early 20's) did about 14 dives with Dive Grenada over the last weeks of 2019 and the first week of 2020, and we had an absolutely phenomenal time. The owners, Phil and Helen are always on site to provide service personally, answer any questions, and make sure everything is running ship shape. There is plenty of rental gear available and in very good shape - we had a couple days where some of my own gear hadn't arrived yet due to airline baggage delays (fortunately had masks and computers in our carryon, of course!), and they had me set up lickety split. Obviously bring your own gear if you have it, but anything you need/want to rent is available.The on-land part of the service includes rinsing your BC/regs for you in between dives, and your wetsuit, BC, boots, etc are all dried on their hangars for you and locked up overnight. You get a basket with your name on it that you can store whatever miscellaneous stuff you don't want to cart back and forth to your resort. Phil has any nitrox folks check their tank mixes, and then the crew loads all the equipment onto the boat for you -- the next time you touch your BC will be when you do your final equipment check and get into it, thence to be assisted to stand up and go to your get-in point. On two-tank dives your tank is changed for you between dives -- you just rest between dives.I also can't say enough good things about the dive masters, Cojack, Shyheim, and Brittany (and Captain Kieron!) They put the "master" in dive master! Especially in spotting the wildlife - Seahorses, octopus, huge eagle rays, huge crabs, massive sea turtles, nurse sharks, big and little moray eels, and lots of lobsters were our "macrolife" highlights of the trip, and many of these we encountered multiple times. I have a funny story that helps illustrate just how good these guys are compared to the competition: my business partner came down to Grenada at the same time, but since he booked quite late all the dive slots here were full, so he went down the beach to one of the other bigger dive shops. On what was originally booked to be one of our "dry land days", we went down to that shop which I won't name, and did a couple dives with them so that I could dive with my biz partner. First of all, if I'd only dived at the other place, I would have come away thinking "well, Grenada is okay for diving, but there sure isn't much in the way of interesting marine life there". I think we saw exactly one small moray eel on those whole two dives, and nothing else from my list above. When that other shop's dive masters were briefing us they were saying we "might" see a turtle or something, and mentioned that one of them had once found a sea horse "but don't get your hopes up that was once in a lifetime!". And I'm sitting there thinking... "wait a minute, Shyheim and Cojack find us a seahorse almost every dive!". Needless to say I was VERY excited to get back to Dive Grenada the next day and get back in the real action. Also, you can imagine how much Shyheim and Cojack loved my story -- so they told me their secret seahorse-finding tricks! I'm definitely not going to post their tricks here, but I can confirm that they do have a couple and I got to watch them execute one of them (successfully of course) the next day. We agreed to call the other dive shop "Once Upon a Time" diving :-) and would make our once-upon-a-time sign whenever we found a seahorse. So that's my little anecdote which I hope illustrates how much this place stands head and shoulders above the rest!Cojack is also a particular masterful GoPro photographer, and was frequently helping me get amazing photos and videos with my camera. He knows his way around a GoPro!Things to ask for -- if you like reefs and marine life, you definitely want to go to "Shark Reef". But note this is on the Atlantic Side so can only be done when the weather "is just perfect" (mainly that it isn't choppy) -- so you'll want enough days that you can have a reasonable chance to get out there. The other reefs are good, but Shark Reef is EPIC. Meanwhile if you like wrecks, Tyrell Bay is a fun wreck in not-too-deep water, and has lots of cut-outs in the hull so that you can safely penetrate it. If you're nitrox certified (or pick up your certs from Phil during your stay, like my younger son did!) we really loved the Shakem and the Anina (both in more like 30 meters of water).
